Hotel Hilltop Kandy, Kandy

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel! The rooms were cozy and well-equipped, the service was exceptional, the location offered stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere, the dining experience was delightful, and the facilities were top-notch. However, there were minor issues with the replenishment of certain items in the dining area.

My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant. The room was stylish and comfortable with a view over the town, though the access through muddy flowerbeds was a bit inconvenient. The service was friendly and helpful, contrasting with my previous experiences in Sri Lanka. The location, though centrally situated and nicely maintained, had a slight drawback of being overlooked by other areas. The dining experience was delightful with a good selection of Sri Lankan and Western food. The facilities were satisfactory overall.

Staying at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The nice view of the mountains from the room was a highlight, especially watching monkeys playing on the trees. However, the lack of soundproofing was a downside as outside noise, including trains and cars, disturbed my sleep throughout the night.

The hotel had a convenient location near the main road and the Kandy train station, making it ideal for those visiting Sri Dalada Maligawa. The rooms were decent but lacked modern amenities like a minibar or refrigerator. The service was generally polite, although there were hints of staff expecting tips. The dining options were average with a standard Sinhalese buffet. The facilities were satisfactory but didn't offer anything exceptional.
